Roy Carroll records most of the Splitter Orchester activities with his mobile 16 track setup.
He has also recorded various projects of Splitter Orchester members and (amongst others) The Arditti Quartet, Barry Guy, Evan Parker, Mats Gustafsson, and for BBC Radio 3, RTE / TG4 (Irish TV), Contemporary Music Centre (Dublin). Roy regularly works as a live audio engineer for Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods, ausland, Radial System V, Tanznacht Berlin and others.
When he’s not filling up hard drives with the air disturbances of others, he’s propagating his own, solo, with other musicians and in The Instrument (collaboration with choreographer Maya Lipsker and scenographer Sarah Marguier).
Roy holds an M-Phil in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin (specialised in composition but took modules in psychoacoustics, music cognition, DSP, production / recording techniques).
