Marta Zapparoli
Analog Devices, Tapes, Field Recordings
born 1975, Isola della Scala, Italy
Marta is creating sound art since 2003, using self-made field recordings, digital and custom analog tools, medical machinery tape recorders, and recently antennas and radio receivers. Her sonic work investigates environmental phenomena, acoustic ecology, electrosmog, radio waves, focusing on sonic narratives & human emotions through de-composition and real-time tape manipulation, sounds that are considered non-musical or overheard.
From raindrops to footsteps to sine tones and cracked chips, she brings past experience into the present, relocating the orchestra in any number of environments, or placing the environment within the sonic spectrum of our improvisation.
